The Argus Cycle Tour is an annual cycle event in Cape Town, originally hosted in 1978, becoming ever popular since. My dad decided to take part this year, so as to coincide it with a trip to visit my brother who emigrated out to Cape Town just over a year ago.
There was some stiff competition, with a lot of pro riders taking part, including Lance Armstrong for the second year in a row. The 109 km race was won by 21 year old Tyler Day, in a time of 2:32. My dad did pretty well, finishing in a little over 4 hours; not bad considering he’s three times as old as the winner!
