We just received a drop of second hand road frames, with some pretty tasty ones including a 10th Anniversary Eddy Merckx and a fairly rare Edi Strobl. Pop in to have a closer look.

Now Stocking De Rosa
Time Pedals
We’re now stocking a fairly comprehensive range of Time’s pedals. Tom and myself (Alex) have been using their ATAC MTB pedals, favouring them over SPD type pedals, so it only made sense to get a bunch in, along with a few of their road pedals. Pop in to see what we’ve got, and we can explain the different types.

New Stuff At Fitzrovia Bicycles
So, we’ve been a bit lame updating this recently, but during that time we’ve had some exciting new things come into the store.
Firstly, we’re now a Sidi stockist. To many, Sidi need no introduction, having been the go-to brand for anyone wanting high end road and/or MTB shoes. Handmade from Italian leather, and packed with neat features, Sidi shoes ooze quality. Typically, we needed to try some out so I (Alex) went for the Dominator 5 Lorica, and Tom’s using the Dragon 2 Carbon (pictured below). Definitely the most comfortable cycling shoes I’ve tried, and I’m looking forward to giving them a winters worth of abuse to see how they hold up.

Next up, is Nuun. Nuun produce electrolyte based hydration tablets. There’s a bunch of different companies on the market offering products like these, but we’ve tried Nuun before and they’re definitely one of the best, and have a huge choice of flavours. Added to water they provide an instant rehydration solution for all athletes, plus, they work wonders for a banging hangover!

We also now have a stock of Brother 631 road frames. We’ve been stokcing their track frames for a while now, and the new road frames look every bit as good as their track offerings. Can’t wait to get some tasty builds done on these.

And lastly, here’s some pictures direct fro the Woodrup workshop of my completed 853 track frame. I cannot wait to get my hands on this. Love that workshop too.

New Tees, Sweats and Hoodies.
We just got another batch of t-shirts emblazoned with our legendary logo, along with a new ‘Cogmoth’ design.
There’s various colours in both designs, plus we have a new limited run of sweet tees with a pink-purple fade logo.
Also this time, is a selection of sweats and hoodies with both designs.
Check the pics below, or pop in and pick one up…tees are £15 (fade tees £17), and sweats and hoodies are £35. Bosh.

Safety first
Jubilee Weekend
We will be closed this coming Monday and Tuesday. Apologies for any inconvenience caused. We’ll be back open as normal at 8am on Wednesday the 6th. Enjoy the weekend!
Custom Woodrup Giro frameset in progress…

We recently decided to commission some custom framesets from Woodrup in Leeds. We’ve been stocking their frames for a little while now, but fancied having some in store that show off some of the seriously impressive workmanship from Kevin Sayles, Woodrup’s main frame builder. For this first one, we’ve specified a bi-laminate front end, which basically means the top and down tubes are brazed into a complete fillet brazed headtube and lug assembly. All the lugs are hand filed, and the downtube lug features an ‘FB’ for Fitzrovia Bicycles. Needless to say, we’re pretty excited about it. To follow will be a track frame, and possibly a belt drive ‘Chimera’ frame. Watch this space!

Click for Kevin Sayles’ flickr page, there’s some seriously nice stuff to see!

The Flying Scotsman
I saw the film The Flying Scotsman last night, after I’d been meaning to watch it for ages. For those who don’t know, it’s a biopic of Scottish cycling champion Graeme Obree, and outlines his ups and downs throughout his career. His story of success is one of almost legend these days, and I still remember my dad telling me about this guy when I was a kid, who’d built his bike using washing machine parts, and had broken the 1 hour record on it.
I’d thoroughly recommend watching the film, but for now watch this video for an insight into the man himself.
New Brother Road Frame
The ever rad guys at Brother will be releasing a lugged steel road very soon. We saw it at the Bristol Bespoked show and it looks great. For now, check out the promo vid…
